Your hypocrisy shows large here. You like Jeffords because he's liberal. It's that simple. I don't mind his switch. I blame the Republicans for allowing him in and supporting his career. But you are lying when you pretend he's something more than a left-wing guerilla who threw his one bomb when he thought he could do some real damage.

Why do liberals only use the word "patriotic" when they are sure they can get excrement on it?

Did Clinton teach you ALL the value of lying???

I think Bush made a HUGE mistake by snubbing Jeffords. No doubt about it. Bush underestimated the Jeffords' ego.

But Jeffords has been an independent type for a long time....I find it odd that after so many years in Congress Jeffords "suddenly" feels the need to change parties. I don't see him as a patriot....he could have been a patriot years ago if being a Republican was so repulsive.

I think Jeffords saw his change to an Independent as a way to make a name for himself: a name that he never made for himself based on Congressional service....afterall, I'm not from Vermont and 2 weeks ago I'd never heard of him, but I now know who Jeffords is.

And, yes, Vermonters voted him in, and he should stay in the Senate. I fully respect the decision of the voters.

When I was working out of Plattsburg, the ghosts of Benedict Arnold's sunken fleet haunted the shores of Lake Champlain at night. He went bad too, after building the first navy. Does it go with the territory?

In addition to launching a Justice department investigation
into why minorities are apparently being excluded from
living in Vermont,

state.vt.us

I think Bush should also issue an executive order shutting
down the skiing industry in Vermont until the serious environmental
issues are satisfactorily addressed,

Patricia, how would you feel about Zell Miller if he trumped Jeffords and dumped the Dems?

Honest question, and I look forward to your answer.

Bush should also crack down on "big dairy" in Vermont!

Look at all of the pollution that the Vermont dairy industry is
causing in your beloved Lake Champlain!

nrdc.org

And look who is number 2 on the list of top recipients
of money from the dairy industry in the Senate in 2000.
None other than Jeffords himself!
