Craig- I've worked out of my electronic cottages for twenty years. I think laying fiber is more energy efficient than drilling gas fields.

You can't ride a bike to work in Silicon Valley but you can if the information society becomes dispersed. We have just so many resources so that path can't go on forever. Sure there will be price spikes but the end result of the technology revolution is we will use what we have left more efficiently.

You are thinking gold is going to go up, but I don't think it will. There are too many jewelry merchants around like Glenn, who wouldn't think of passing the increased costs on to the customer, and so, how can any gold inflation occur?
It can't, at the consumer level.
