Hello Kerry,

>>As far as these gurus coming to chat boards to set up shop, hey! it comes with the territory<<

>>...People not taking responsibility for their own bad judgements really irk me."<<

People really need to ask themselves the questions wrt investment chat boards....what/who do the boards represent and why am I reading them, and even more importantly, if you cannot understand the answer to the first question, why are you placing your money at risk?

I'm beginning to feel that much of the criticism of the "boards" have more to do with individual investors doing as you stated in your post NOT doing their own DD, then wondering what went wrong and whom to blame after the fact.

The chat boards are a wonderful medium for interacting with other investors, gleaning insight into the mindset of other investors, gauging market "sentiment"....

Beyond that, two words apply....

Caveat emptor.

I agree with much of what you say....no matter what, we are all responsible for pulling the trigger on all of our trades.

But to further my store analogy, so the store puts out their promotional item, the $2 12-pack of Pepsi. I come into the store, by a couple of 12-packs (I drink a lot of pepsi), some toothpaste, a big ole steak, some ice cream sandwiches....you get the picture. And then I get home and I pop a can of Pepsi and take a big swig and ......pphhhhhheeeewwww....blech, it tastes like diet caffeine free shasta

So now, the pristine tonic of the gods that I thought I was getting is something completely different than what I thought I was buying. And then I look closer and it says Pespi, so it ain't even what I thought I was buying. Turns out that the store sold me on all of the great things that I look for in a soft drink and hid the real product.

And, I have a refrigerator full of stuff that I paid a higher price for than if I had gone to my favorite grocery store.

In this case, I might have a beef...even if I should have looked closer at the label.
