Amazing, isn't it? Byrd put on this extensive act for the media, talking all about the storied history of the Senate and how it would face the impeachment crisis with wisdom, loyalty to the nation, and statesmanship, worthy of all those who built it, as well as those who died for it. Then somebody reminded the old hypocrite that he's history's leading "King of Pork", and he better tow the line on the Clinton fix...and he shut up and sold out. That's our Senate. No wonder a sewer rat like Jeffords got to climb there in the wrong party...
