Market Outlook
Where's the Beef?

Stocks continue to slide this morning after lower consumer sentiment numbers and weak durable goods data were released. Those numbers put further pressure on the market already lackluster ahead of the holiday weekend, andalysts expect the moderate volume we've seen so far this session to fall off further before the day is finished. Last night, Alan Greenspan said the economy isn't out of the woods yet, but will likely be making a recovery later this year, taking a stance that gave traders hope that there may be further rate cuts. Surprisingly, his comments don't seem to have had much impact in light of the economic data that has discouraged investors today.
