Could it be the new president ? <g>

Bush? I doubt it. <g>

Seriously, the appointment of Vent as president may be part of the rally. He seems to have an impressive background, and, as COO, he's been the one running the reorganization of operations to cut costs and accelerate the path to profitability. There has also been increased buying of Internet infrastructure companies recently. They are coming back from heavily oversold conditions, and the good ones, like INAP, should be much less susceptible to a weak economy than most tech companies.

I think we are seeing buying in anticipation of an announcement on INAP's financing plan. While many tech companies will be reporting further deterioration in sales and earnings, the situation for INAP should be improving. Quarterly reports should show continued revenue growth and smaller losses. I think that makes them a safer company to be holding going into earnings season. They are less likely to warn and more likely to beat estimates.
