I agree that the extremes in both parties are destructive to both sides of the aisle. It is healthy for there to be a good and passionate debate about all issues....which is why I am glad Jeffords defected. His move put more balance in the government and that's good for America.

We'll see which side is gaining after the 2002 elections.

The DOI has cut off water supplies to farmers in the Klamath Basin because of ESA actions to protect sucker fish and Coho Salmon. The ESA was supposed to protect plants and animals without endangering people. Now 200,000 acres of farmland are going dry. This misuse of the ESA is trumping property rights and allowing taking of lands.

The supported flows of the Klamath are so high that in most years they surpass natural conditions.
