There is a pony in that pile of horse manure!

The judge ruled against a Rambus motion to shutdown manufacturing at the Italian factory. The Italian newspaper stated that the judge was satisfying the politicians and 1600 workers at the plant. The article says nothing about the status of the infringement case except that the license issues continue in Italy and other foriegn countries.

It seems obvious that Rambus would not have filed its motion to shutdown SDRAM production at the plant if it had not won the infringement opinion.

So, politics aside this actually can be seen as good news for Rambus! The Europatent office apparently agrees that the SDRAM infringes Rambus' patent. Rambus would not have made that motion unless they had the infringement issue decided in their favor.

Thanks Richard,

The inaccurate reporting by EBN is getting way out of hand. The rush to get a scoop is leading to a lot of half truths and is a real dis-service to readers.
