AJ, that is the most insightful statement I've ever seen in one of your posts. Is it original?

"With a creed you can take over the world with platitudes people on the street will spit at you."

I disagree with the upper hand thing. Still, I see this statement worthy.

The majority of my associates are engineers of one sort or another. They have lived their lives to develop or invent something that will stand for a moment on the crest of time. The hope is that their work will shine as the premier example for their niche in industry. Of course when successful, they immediately return to their devotion to work because some up-and-comer will for sure have something better in no time. I have high regard for these people. I see their character to be something like the American pioneers of the 19th century or the hard working industrialists a century later.

Sometimes persons from outside the engineering sector like to make cheap pot shots at the work these people do. It is analogous to this: One person trains for years to become an expert at stacking blocks then puts all their resources into making the highest stack of blocks in the world. A small child with no knowledge and limited skill can kick the stack of blocks down giving this accomplishment the appearance of rubbish. Does the small child have an upper hand? Should an engineer give up their devotion because the work can so easily be demolished? Should a believer hang their head and be silenced because faith is so easily mocked?

"people on the street will spit at you."

People crucified Christ, should I expect anything different?
Matthew 5:
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
"Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
