Pharma-conspiracy straw men marching off to way..

OK. I just went back and looked. The phama conspiracy point was Bald Eagle's. When you jumped into the debate between Baldy and Steven, I thought you were taking Baldy's point. Mea culpa.

Reasonable people can always come to a reasonable consensus.

Really?

I suppose it depends on how you define reasonable. If reasonable means not believing in things that avoid reaching consesus, okay.

But can reasonable people come to a reasonable consensus on who was the best Center Fielder of all time? The best heavyweight? Whether England should adopt the euro? Whether Canada should give up its ties to the monarchy? How to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict? Whether American blacks should be paid reparations for slavery? Who really wrote the plays attributed to Shakespeare? And which is the best of the plays?

Seems to me there are lots of things on which reasonable people can't and never will reach reasonable consensus.
