Gosh, in the TV age you deny that imagery is part of the process? Sure there's substance, but there's always imagery shaped by WH PR. Clinton didn't need Gore for ideas, he could spin on his own, God help us. Clinton could also spontaneously discuss the technical details of any legislation under consideration as well. Bush is carefully avoiding situations in which he might have to do that. His pronouncements are limited to scripted sound bites, just like the campaign.
