no confusion here. If we are talking about today then it would be worth wile for you to check what company is getting rewards for innovations and one of leaders in new patents awarded (hint: 3 letters, ends with d, starts with a, and m is in the middle)
ibm virtually created corporate pc market and microsoft and intel together with it. It may have happened 20 years back but that is the fact.
And the licensing agreement with amd that you are complaining so much about is connected to that deal. Face it that if not for that "terribly unfair to intel" agreement intel would most likely be a tiny company today if it would survive at all.
