42 is the answer that the computer comes up with at the end of the "HitchHikers Guide to the Galaxy". THis computer was by far the most powerful built and it was asked the question what is the meaning of life, or the purpose of the universe of some such.. The computert calculated for weeks and weeks and at the end of the book came up with the answer "42" 42 is a pretty mystical number for numerologists out there...much as 23 and 33 are. they spent 20 minutes on cnbc today asking why the number 33 appears on the back of the Rolling Rock bottle. wonders never cease. In windows 95 the MSFT log has 7 streams of colors coming off of the log, each has 6 boxes for a total of 42....
