Hi EC,

I took the liberty to re-post your post about the inability of Israel to go nuke to a certain philosophy board, to see if they had any comments. One of the posters who responded goes with the moniker 'algore'. He is a mathematician with a deep knowledge of physics and an interest in what 'consciousness' is. Needless to say, i think he is very bright and i have much respect for him.

If you want the URL to his philosophy board, let me know and i will post it for you. In the meantime, here is his response:

ALGORE WROTE: This poster (who is he, by the way?) either knows a lot more about the middle east conflict than I do, or at least sounds as tho he does. However when it comes to nukes he's greatly overestimating the fallout dangers. Sure, an atomic explosion in Jerusalem could kill a few in Iran .. maybe 1% of 1% of the population, probably much less. Not enough to deter anyone. No one's thinking of nukes, anyway. The immediate question has to do with a conventional "civil war" between palestinians and jews in Israel, with the possibility of other Arab states - and the US - involved. His main point, the "grand irony", is that palestinians are far better off being peaceful: if they are, soon they'll have a "palestinian paradise". But that point of view of course assumes that the palestinians are the ones causing the trouble. The writer is implicitly saying that the jews are NOT provoking the conflict in any way, that it's entirely the fault of palestinians. Obviously, no matter what his level of knowledge, the poster's opinion must be taken with a grain of salt, considering his bias. BTW notwithstanding that it's an excellent post ..
