I happen to know for a fact that lawyers ain't cheap. That rich folks depend upon them to save on taxes ought to tell you how pernicious the tax code can be to the rich. I personally have not one bit of compunction about employing any and all legal schemes to lower potential tax liabilities. The code is unfair, and it is a good thing that those to whom it is unfair have some sort of recourse.

I can accept a nearly flat 10% (preferably less) tax rate. But I think to tax business on business costs is positively ridiculous and harmful. You want business to spend and grow. To tax their costs militates against expansion. Nope. Don't do dat.
