Surely you jest. Peace in the Middle East and Northern Ireland is a more realistic goal.

Tek,

<< Out of curiosity, can anyone point to a single documented case of a Rambus bull convincing a Rambus bear of anything or vice versa? >>

"Chuckle", as my astute threadmate Cha2 would say.

In our case I would ask:

Out of curiosity, can anyone point to a single documented case of a Nokia bull convincing a Nokia bear of anything or vice versa?

Cordob of the MF thread is a reformed RMBS bear I think. He's come so far into the light that I think he's in Italy covering the Micron trial for the thread.

Not really sure though.

PS so peace in the middle east and Ireland can be achieved:)

Frankly, I think that an awful lot of investors are neither bulls nor bears re this company. I suspect that much of the buying and selling is due to the fact that it has been viewed as a "mo-mo" play for short-term players. (The stock, not the company, is being traded.) I suspect that this may change, once all the legal questions are fully answered - which will not be any time soon, IMHO.

I got in early last year, after doing a little research. But as time went on, the noise and emotion generated on BOTH sides dissuaded me from considering my investment to be logical or long-term~ I still follow the stock out of curiosity, but have not seen enough to convince me that either side is, or will be, correct. There are too many other companies, gorillas or not, that I find "safer"to own at this point.

FWIW,

Don't forget that those on the sidelines and yes, there are a few bulls & bears with open minds which can be influenced by the banter between the bulls & a bears......

FWIW, I have been a RMBS bull overall....... however, there have been times when the FUD, from the media, the bashers online......... & most recently with the INFX/Payne fiasco........ when they have influenced my thinking about RMBS......... at least for short periods of time....... albeit without changing my long term POV.

Me thinks that there are plenty of instances when bulls & bears should be at least temporarily influenced by contrary opinion/relentless FUD.

Considering how much is at stake regarding RMBS patent portfolio & the sheer amount of $$$$$$ product that can be potentially affected, I can understand why the debate is so heated........ and why for most, it is a love/hate....... Bull/Bear debate..........

Perhaps this might also might explain the extreme volume of hyping & blatant FUD out there RE: RMBS.

"a single documented case of a Rambus bull convincing a Rambus bear of anything"

It must be a tough sell, especially recently:

Bull convincing bear: there is one big AMD fan named Cordob who hangs out on the fool thread. He's gone from openminded bear to modest bull.

Bear convincing bull: well, the stock is down 66% this year, so I can think of many cases...
