Jim, there is one additional point to counter the bullish arguments you listed. The statement "high INTC capex means every semi maker must follow" has no basis in logic or history. Intel has no peer, and the fact that their capex is likely to hold up implies nothing about lesser companies, which is everybody else! In past downturns, Intel has always been the one company whose capex has held up.
