Right you are about Gandi! Even today Indian's leading politicians are products of British Public SChool System! You know, I was traveling to Oakham in Rutland, passing through Leicester, never saw so many Indians in one place! So it appears to me that Indians like the Brits and England! Otherwise why should they go to live with their ex-colonial masters? Same goes for Nigerian! They have had their independence since 1962, but all their heads of the States (Guwon, Obasanju, Danjuma, Yarauad, Shagahri, Babanghida, and Abasah) are product of British Schools, Sandhurst in particular! All the Crown's ex-Colonies are happy to be tied to the Commonwealth.
This means that the Brtish Colonialism was not such an evil institution as some claim!
