Craig, it would be nice were it that simple, but you're spouting opinion and ignoring history. Perhaps you think the history of infection across all species is just coincidence? Such as plagues that wiped out huge #s of populations--like the flu of 1918, or the black plague, or AIDS, or ebola--a better diet would have prevented them? Did you know that we are actually colonized by bacteria, some of which kill us, and most of which we've adapted to over evolution's history--that inside every cell is an "organelle"--once a parasitic invader that probably harmed most of us, but eventually we adapted to and then became dependent on--called mitochondria--that now burns oxygen for us? Did you read the link I posted? Diet is a piece of the story, but only that.

What do you think about the fact that h. pylori causes ulcers--and that a simple course of antibiotics cures them? Doctors USED to think it was diet, and that never really worked. Wiping out the infection does.

I agree that doctors should always give nutrition information. It's not that they give wrong information, they tend NOT to give information at all. but then again, maybe the patient should go to a nutritionist to educate themselves, and not expect a heart surgeon to sideline as a nutritionist. I think the patient ought to be responsible, and not hand it over to a specialist. Eating junk food, empty calories w/o nutrition, is surely going to lead to illness. Well, enough said, but I do think that your deciding diet is EVERYTHING is as narrow a view as the idea that infection is EVERYTHING.
