You and I are living in different realities. I've know that for a long time. If you are happy in yours more power to you. You don't sound happy, but if you are, bravo. If you are not, I would urge you to explore. Whatever it is you've seen, or read, it doesn't seem to have been enough to enlighten you on a happy way to live. I can't know what the answer is for you- I am sure it is different for everyone. Maybe you've already found it, and maybe not. I am lucky- I've been the same way religiously all my life, and my spirituality (or lack there of) fits me like my own skin, it IS my own skin. You seem to have bounced around quite a bit. I can't possibly understand what that's like. But good luck to you. You need to know, really know, that your reality is as alien to me, as Karen's and mine is to you.
