<when the tide comes in ALL your boats will rise with it.>

I generally agree with that statement which is why I now hesitate to be critical of much of anything in the sector. For instance I'm not a big fan of DROOY, GSR, and KRY, but I know full well that those stocks could perform superbly in a strong market. GLG on a short term basis looks a little pricey, as they really need another project, but longer term?

In looking at your allocation right now I totaled up about US 80K in portfolio value. You also offered me the clue that your relative was a gold bull and was speculative in approach. That's important because I'm of the notion that if one should lose money speculating, it should be on something one believes in. And you've offered me the clue that you have some grasp of the issues. That's important, cause if you lose at least it's not out of ignorance, but rather a wrong bet based on sound facts and background information.

My advise: She has almost 30% of her holdings in GLG. That's probably because it's been a successful stock of late, but that's too much in one holding. She has about 25% in CAU. As you suggested this is a litigation stock more than a gold stock. Without passing any judgement on the merits and chances of CAU winning a taking suit or in time getting their huge deposit into production, if it were me, that's too high a percentage in one stock. She has 15% in GSR (?, see above). TVX is one of my holdings (and a big loser), but it is one of twenty six, and she only has 5% in it so that's probably OK. SLR is a table pounder for me at this price, she has a 2% allocation there, so could own a little more. In conclusion, you might consider balancing the holdings some and go with a ten or twelve stock portfolio. Could she use a tax loss? Should be pretty easy to find a couple names just from this thread as many of us are like minded about the better ones. I do think many of the large cap golds are ahead of themselves.
