Hi Ex-Dilbert, RE " Just insert money into the machine and it will double every three years."

Not to make you feel bad but just to say --- Now I know why you've been Bearish on AMAT. You don't know that the stock had been doubling in value every 2 years since the late 70s.

it will double every three years.

Factually, this has been exactly what has been happening for the past 30 years.

Every post Cary uses the word "risk" and talks about hedging his position, money management

As far as Cary talking about risk, why does he never talk about potential rewards? Shouldn't you excoriate him for not doing that just as you do to others here for not discussing the risks? You are only interested in the potential downside, not of the growth this industry will see not too long from now. You can only win betting against AMAT for so long; if I were you I would consider taking profits and running soon if you are short. Many people have gotten "wiped out" by betting against AMAT.
