Yep. The irony of having a "Human Rights" Commission in the UN with voting members like Libya and Sudan is apparently lost on such people.

Having spent a number of years living in parts of the world other than here, no, it does not occur to me that the "US is the only enlightened nation in an incredibly stupid world." And any nation that believes and acts as if it is "the enlightened one" will eventually find itself in a heap of trouble. I seem to recall that the last nation that believed that started a world war.

Cy, I would not call America an enlightened nation. Currently America is being governed by the enlightened over the objections of some of the stupidest fools in the world. New Zealand and Austraila might be enlightened nations. New Zealand holds the Americas Cup. England used to be and enlightened nation but now seem to be infected with mad foot and socialist disease spread thru the Chunnel I guess.
