Perhaps there should be a commission for the holy sites, not only in Jerusalem, but elsewhere, such as Bethlehem and Hebron, composed of Israelis, Palestinians, representatives of the Vatican, the Orthodox Patriarch of Constantinople (Istanbul), and the World Council of Churches. Whatever the final composition, there should be discussion to determine how they are tended and what research is permissible. This may save us from future controversies of this sort......
