Yes , sounds like Powell's trip to Africa , gave him some
fresh insight into one of the more complicated ,
ever-growing , and deeply threatening
hidden battles of disease and virus
that confront mankind...

Some Military leaders are capable of great compassion
after they have seen years of the limitations of
the sword , and now as he must metamorphosize
into a world statesman and representative
of the US...a different kind of global
role that will certainly
challenge him much more than
before as General, but now
as humanitarian...

Seems he was personally deeply moved . I have
always like the good general, myself .
He seems quite genuine , capable , honest & fair
in his assessments . A true leader will go
where the suffering is , and not be unmoved.
