It costs more to treat them without insurance than it would if they had insurance. I think private hospitals are required to treat emergencies, but they don't have to render routine care to the uninsured. Those go to county facilities. And you are supporting that with your taxes.

Why doesn't ANYONE who get's a welfare check have mandatory health insurance premiums taken out of it???? The government is paying for it one way or another anyhow....As long as people are making choices on how much we have to pay in taxes, and for what, why don't the Dems suggest this... After all, health care premiums seem to be a better choice than booze, gambling, drugs, and any number of other things that the money could, and is, being used for...
