use the bully-pulpit to improve education
He will need to do better than his Texas proposals, which they called "Charter Schools". These alternatives to public school started with many promises. In just a few years they became noted for increasing the number of students per teacher, hiring unqualified teachers often without a degree, and lackluster performance on the standardized testing. Several closed their doors overnight in the middle of the term when test scores were about to be announced. I would hope he would use the bully pulpit to actually improve education and not just to read brochures fro the Silvan Learning Centers.
