Ahhh, well, with Daschle knowing all the answers...maybe CA will appreciate that!!! Especially with a hot, dry summer coming, and power and gas, and gas for cars climbing every minute....Wonder why people aren't asking him for what he would do....Just in case he forget's he isn't the President.

While pledging to work with the White House, incoming Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, D-S.D., said some items on Bush's wish list, including drilling for oil in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, are ``dead.'' He also told NBC's ``Meet the Press'' he could not envision building more nuclear power plants, as Bush's energy task force recommended, before figuring out how to dispose of nuclear waste.

This reminds me of their decision to run Dole against Clinton. Dole is a great American who has more than paid his dues BUT, he was not the right candidate. He had his chance before and did not succeed. Now the Reps are clinging to Lott which is a bad mistake. They need new blood in there. Someone less predictable - who will create some uncertainty for the Dems - and give us taxpayers a new look. There has to be someone in the GOP, besides McCain, that the press will take a liking to which then places Puff Dashey on the defensive. IMMHO
