I had a thought about your problem earlier today and you just reminded me. Have you tried putting a shortcut to Norton Security in your startup folder and letting it load from there instead of the normal loading process? I was thinking that this may alter the loading sequence and solve the problem.

In post #reply-15264980 I used EXTRACT /A because the /A part tells the EXTRACT command to work through the .CAB files in the folder beginning at the file given in the command. (Process All cabinets.) This saves a ton of bother.

It's kinda like giving a hound the scent and letting it follow the trail. You sit back and relax while the real work takes place without your involvement.
