olddirtydude,

<< anyone ever stay at the Bellagio or Hard Rock in Vegas? I'm trying to decide between the two, going in July...Patron you went recently right? >>

Depends what you're looking for. Hard Rock is generally younger, more party like. Nicer for a bachelor party than the Bellagio. Bellagio is more classy, a little older of a crowd. More elegant. That famous tiny museum if you care for paintings. I personally like them both, but would prefer to stay at the Bellagio and watch that fountain in front a few times. And it's on the strip, while the Hard Rock is many blocks away. If you haven't been to Vegas before, ya gotta check out some other casinos like the Paris and New York New York if you can.

JMO,
pigboy

p.s. One similarity with the Bellagio and the Hard Rock is that the odds that you get sloppy drunk, lose all the money you pull out and stay up till 4 am are probably the same. ;-)

don't forget to go ride the go-carts at the track(s) out on rainbow.

even those little 'nascar knockoffs' can be pretty intense.

golden nugget dude

restaurant has a nice open face steak sandwich very moderately priced, staff is beyond friendly, rooms are very acceptable and it's just a short bus ride to the strip for a dollar....

Agree with Pigboy on this one, ODB. Hard Rock's pool has undoubtedly the best "scenery" in all of Vegas, definitely the place for babe watching. They also have swim-up blackjack, and a good live music club. They are off-strip though and a bit off the beaten path. Bellagio caters more to the 40 and up crowd. Probably has the world's best blackjack game if you're a high roller (ditto poker). Very good restaurants, too, Picasso, Le Cirque and Olives are all quite good. If you don't stay there, at least come over one night to check out the fountains....
