I have an i815 board - and the video quality is SUPERB - at 1280 x1024.

That's a very charitable way to put it. Another way to put it is that the graphics portion of 815 is a total piece of shit that can't do 1600x1200 at a reasonable color depth, can't do 32bit color at all.

The only good thing about the graphics in i815 board is that you can turn it off. Even the cheapest graphics card will surpass the built in graphics mode of i815. The whole 815 chipset was probably a rush job, since apparently thay just took the graphics engine from 810 chipset, which by the time of 815 release was at least 2 year old, and it was already a piece of shit already at the time of the introduction of the 810 chipset.

Actually, the sub-par graphics of these Intel chipsets completely soured my opinion of Intel, when I ended up buying some small form factor Intel machines, and it caused me many headaches.
