to win in vegas, i figure you've got to be one of 4 things:

1) the house

2) a good card counter on a single-deck blackjack table (if you can find one)

3) a good poker player; where you rent a seat and the house isn't otherwise involved.

4) good at football betting.

football is where you can make some money. the oddsmakers always jack up the spreads where a fan-favorite team is involved; in other words, people pay a premium to bet on the fan favorites.

for instance, when i was there, green bay (being a fan favorite at the time) was way overpriced, week after week. they were about 5-2 when i left but 1-6 against the spread.

i won 5 straight with tampa bay; at the time, the fans didn't like them so they were at a discount where the spread was concerned.
