Thank you, Gregg (I suppose). Truthfully, I felt very little contrition as I wrote my 66 words on the CNBC Critique thread. The truth is that, aside from our little dialogue here, no one else has posted a word on this thread for the past 7+ months. Thus, my original commentary on this thread's activity lifespan seems still to be valid.

So what can we get out of this that's a positive?

One problem I have with bookmarked subjects that become inactive is that I have no idea how many other people still have the thread on their subject mark list. If I'm the only one, I should expect inactivity and will probably unmark the thread myself. If there is at least one other person, then at least my comments (if I choose to post any) will be read by someone. There's then some possibility of dialogue.

I imagine you'd like to know how many people subject mark YOUR thread. (I don't subject mark it.) If we can bring this to SI's attention - that each thread should have a "census" number attached - we will have helped many people, including ourselves.
