Have been buying LU today. This deal with ALA just doesn't make sense and neither does the leakage of the terms prior to closing. A negative premium for the company? What shareholders would approve this? I think it's a sham leak to keep things cheap until closure. If it's really this cheap a deal then bidders will come in, shareholders will mutiny and the US government won't let the French have Bell Labs anyway. To much national security at stake. Not for the faint of heart today but I'm buying away. Expect the deal to look different when it's finally formally announced. Shorts are going overboard here and I'm hoping to take full advantage. I believe Lu is worth at least $15 a share.
