Yes, I believe your up bringing make a large impression on your daily life. More so, I believe you relationships with family and friends are a larger contribution to you life events. Working harder or not for me was not due to my financial status while growing up, which was low”. But the desire to work to achieve was to gain my mother’s approval. I started working everyday after school in the family restaurant in the small town of Yountville, CA. As we owned the poor establishment I was not paid for the work. In the summer I bailed hay, pumped gas, picked grape, prunes and other fruit. Carrying the hog slop in five gallon buckets on a bicycle six miles to feed the pig daily, was real tough in the heat of the summer. So as I grew up my rewards were family related and approval, never was money even used as we had little. What I and many of my family did learn was that hardwork helped achieve approval by employers who then paid me more to work harder, so I did. This worked well until I became management some 15 years ago. Now helping people work hard is what I am being paid to do. Now I am holding onto cash looking to buy stock at a lower price. And enjoying the summers much more now then when I was ten. Stan
