Also starting to investigate CIPH. Listened to their DRW presentation. If I understood correctly, these guys have something of an installed base (150, mostly academic, if memory serves), and they are preparing to launch a more commercially oriented version. This is another BLUE H stock that hasn't bounced much. It actually traded below cash for a little while. Anyway, I was wondering if any of their competitors were actually selling protein chips. If CIPH's apparent first mover advantage holds, the standardization issues become moot. Here the AFFX analogy might hold. I don't expect this to happen overnight, if at all. So here are some "suppliers" of protein chips:

lab-on-a-chip.com

It unlocked on 3/26.

CIPH goes on my list for digging, which is getting long as I head for vacation. Well, it's only a week, and I won't be good for much other then sitting in front of a PC when I get back. Part of my exercise will be to determine whether not any of the suppliers cited in the link have any revenues to speak of from protein chips. I know Phylos, though private, has its followers here. They also presented at DRW. Zyomyx . . . seen 'em discussed. Aren't they due to be spun out of somebody?

Cheers, Tuck
