I know this poster is on ignore to some people, so I will copy his post here, so that others may benefit from it. It is quite excellent. There are only nine commandments. He suggests it could be used in several excellent ways. It is really excellent! (Thank you, Brees!)

The bolding is mine.

(Good post, Brees! Thanks for sharing!)

"Oh. Maybe I misunderstood what you were looking for. I meant only to offer some examples, not an all inclusive list. I stated them as first person and directive thinking the do's or don'ts would be clear. I can add more characterization.
1. Tell the truth. (do)(right)
2. Forgive the wrongs of others who have a) expressed sincere remorse, b) made reparations for their wrong doing, c) have shown a sincere intent eliminate the wrong in the future. (do)(right)
3. Show mercy toward those who have committed a wrong that cannot be corrected when they have: a) expressed sincere remorse, b) made reparations for their wrong doing, c) have shown a sincere intent eliminate the wrong in the future. (do)(right)
4. Be just and fair in judgement. (do)(right)
5. Have compassion for and work toward the well being of other creatures. (do)(right)
6. Protect the innocent from unjust acts. (do)(right)
7. Seek knowledge and truth in all things. (do)(right)
8. Do not steal. (don't steal)(wrong to steal)
9. Do not commit murder. (don't commit murder)(wrong to murder)

"And what would you do with the list?"
I would post it on this thread (done)at your request. I would use it as a check to my conscience (done). If other people agreed with it we could all use it as a test of one another's credibility. It could also be used as a basis for group agreement on standards. Oh yeah, now I remember this all started with a discussion on standards. Of course the above list is not measurable and standards are. So, defining measurable standards that comply with the list and take in to account the diversity of potential circumstances would be a lot of work. I hope you weren't expecting that."
