Even if true, I am still surprised by the ruling-although not so much by who dissented(Scalia and Thomas).

The reasoning is interesting as it states that the implications of not using a cart are to introduce fatigue into the contest (as well as the acknowledged skill and tactics). Could we allow wheelchairs to compete straight up with marathon runners as it is simply a matter of fatigue added to tactics? Scalia and Thomas dissented.
