Yes. I can imagine someone going to a dishonorable and avoidable death to stand on a the higher principle of truth. One can encompass the other but there are circumstances in which they don't.

It is more honorable to serve the kingdom than to live as a thief.
It is more honorable to repay kindness with gratitude than to steal from your benefactor.
etc etc

Yet I would choose the course of Robin Hood over Prince John and I would support the choice of Huck Finn to help his friend Jim.
These characters moved to high principle in the face of indignity and at the risk of death by the newspaper wielding noble class of their time.
