blake, so the assertion that rdram would begin to match ddr on a cost to customer basis was wrong. at least we all now agree on that. no more ignorance postulating the contrary. ;-)

now we can go on to discuss why ddr is kicking rdram's butt. butt, alas, that wasn't the discussion, was it? nope, just that ddr would kick rdram's butt in cost to customer.

btw, when was the last time you heard a customer ask why something was less expensive when they bought it? when was the last time a customer paid a lot more money for something only b/c the lower priced item was being sold at a loss?

oh, and please cite your source that says rdram mfrs are making money.
