While looking in my windows directory I noticed about a hundred files ending in .tmp with 0 KB size.Are these temp files that I can erase?They all begin with fffe
I also found Win386.swp and it is 64,000 kb.Is this my swap file and can it be erased?


Yes and yes.

the .fff* temp files are a bug in Office. You can read about them at the link below. Scroll down to #9. There's also a permanent solution to getting rid of them but only if you're comfortable editing system files. I use the Langa clean9x batch file to clean up after my messes. :-)
