M A R K E T .. S N A P S H O T -- Shares brace for sloppy open

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- A warning from Sun Microsystems cast a shadow on the market Wednesday, with shares bracing for an open on the downside.

June S&P 500 futures dropped 4.50 points, or 0.4 percent, and were trading roughly 5.90 points below fair value, according to HL Camp & Co. And Nasdaq futures erased 27.00 points, or 1.5 percent.

Over in the Treasury arena, prices gained some minor traction. The 10-year Treasury note gained 5/32 to yield ($TNX) 5.50 percent while the 30-year government bond put on 7/32 to yield ($TYX) 5.84 percent.

In the currency arena, dollar/yen shed 0.1 percent to 120.16 while euro/dollar edged down 0.1 percent to 0.8545.
