Thanks for your opinion Rudedog. I always seem to think of these projects from the OS point of view since that was my 'former life'. Success here is gonna depend a great deal on rock solid OS support. As Intel moves up, they need more and more 'MVS like' RAS. There was an interesting post on one of the other threads where the poster compared Itanium to IBM's 'bet the company' 360 project almost forty years ago. This is big, but I don't know about that big. Intel would still have a nice business if it did not take off, albeit more commoditized, I suspect.
