Hi Bill
The Chicago federal reserve area has been the hardest hit area and the most pessimistic about a recession.
Today’s Chicago Business Barometer fell again in May to a seasonally adjusted 38.7 from 38.9 in April. I
am watching this barometer to see if the skirting recession scenario is starting to work. So far it hasn't. We
hope to see a upturn in this barometer before the west coast and consumer spending become too weak.
