Morgan Stanley wasn't as kind to the networking sector. It downgraded JDS Uniphase (JDSU), Tellabs (TLAB), Nortel Networks (NT), and Sycamore (SCMR) to Neutral from Outperform. The analysts said demand isn't picking up as fast as hoped and the industry recovery may not occur until the third quarter of next year.

The firm also cut estimates on chip makers Texas Instruments (TXN), PMC Sierra (PMCS), Cypress Semiconductor (CY), Broadcom (BRCM) and Rambus (RMBS). Demand in the wireless sector is particularly weak, the firm wrote.
