Trading volumes in Swedish independent oil company Lundin Oil´s stock picked up dramatically and the share price climbed several weeks before the company announced that it will be sold. The company is listed in both Stockholm and on Nadaq.

Trading volumes in Lundin Oil were 10 times higher than normal on Nasdaq, while the share price climbed sharply in Stockholm, where large amounts of shares also changed hands.

"We have followed developments and decided to inform the market (about the pending sale) in order to avoid spculation," says Lundin Oil spokesperson Maria Hamilton.
