The more attractive you make the "minimums", the more people that will take advantage of society's "safety net".

It's human nature, and I am not about to subsidize it.

A helping hand, yes. Not an ongoing, indefinite handout.

Many would ask for outlandish pay increases, but this merely helps balance out w/ business' desire of lower pay. Again, I'm not the biggest fan of unions... but they do have a place in our society. Some have too much power, but most do not.

Exactly, and to the extent that they succeeded, they would lock out the 10 million unemployed by stifling expansion.
