Silver in PCB's

tip, I was talking with two process engineers regarding silver as a finish on a PCB... Both said the shelf life is less than gold from an oxzidation stand pt. But the microwave market is investigating it for it's frequency properties. It seems that Nickel has poorer frequency char. at high levels. Nickel is under the gold finish. 100/10 micro inches nickel/gold. silver they are looking from 10-50 micro inches ontop of copper.

So, for general circuits that are finishing w/ Au/Ni I don't see a switch coming yet from my limited digging...
