Yeah, there is a weird modern notion that creativity and instability are related. A lot of great artists were pretty solid citizens, like Rembrandt and Renoir, and even those who were eccentric were rarely insane. Picasso was a carouser, but no more so than a lot of junior executives; Beethoven had a bad temper, but was responsible enough to take the guardianship of his nephew; and T.S. Eliot worked for a bank, and later a publishing house, became an Anglo- Catholic, and was notable as a cultural conservative......
