i hate it when you ask that...

this is my take fwiw...
i do not like the tech market at all right now. i have about 40 stocks on my screen today and all are red except 2....NI and UCL...2 energy stocks which i like and own...but got in at much lower levels.
my tech stock holdings right now are negligible.

the biggest problem with r right now imo is the fraud conviction...that precludes (iaw bylaws) many funds from buying. i would buy rmbs when MU announces rdram mass production and some court settlements go rmbs' way or when it becomes crystal clear that intc is only going to produce rdram chipsets especially for brookdale. i wonder if the amd ceo is selling out because of the rmbs threat but i have no answer. finally i do not like to hold stocks that are in protracted legal dilemmas. juries and judges are too fickle...and skeletons can come from anywhere.
i know about samsung's, et al, production plans...but i am adverse to stocks that have problems.

i am not buying tech stocks right now except to swing trade short term. i did buy a few thousand shares of one stock on today's dip but i do not plan to keep them long.

presently, i am actively purchasing rental properties near local universities...i have very little to no competition and very cooperative banks offering low interest rates. i have been negotiating unbelievable deals with sellers and banks because there are so few buyers.

i am convinced that a recession is almost here, to be followed by inflation. if the market continues to underperform, some folks are going to want to buy hard income producing assets and i want to be there to help them.

finally i have plenty of dry powder to come back into the market whenever a turnaround seems likely. it should happen...the fed will always take inflation over a recession so they are going to keep pumping out money. i believe there will be one more good buying opportunity but it is not here yet at least not in techs.

i could be completely wrong...but as i have been telling everyone around me for a year...never believe that it can't get worse.

there are just too many people who think everything is ok...and that is against my contrarian thinking.
